DRT for DRT: Developing Relevant Tools for Demand Responsive Transport

The EPSRC-funded ‘DRT for DRT: Developing Relevant Tools for Demand Responsive Transport’ was a three-year research project from July 2010 to June 2013, awarded to a research team within the Transport Studies Group, School of Civil & Building Engineering, Loughborough University. The project was led by Dr Tim Ryley, together with colleagues Dr Marcus Enoch, Dr Mohammed Quddus, Dr Alberto Zanni and Dr Lipika Deka. Dr Lisa Davison, Dr Chao Wang and Dr Peter Stanley were also researchers on the project whilst at Loughborough University.

The highlights of the DRT for DRT project include:

  • The development of demand models for DRT
  • The identification of DRT market niches
  • The determination of a future market potential for DRT
  • The development of DRT tools

The project team would like to conduct follow-on research/consultancy to further test and apply the tools developed from the ‘DRT for DRT’ project. We are keen to hear from relevant stakeholders, such as DRT operators and local authorities, who would like to get involved.
